Our Watchmakers
Established in 1986, S Michlmayr & Co Ltd is an established clock and watch business run by Simon Michlmayr, fellow of the British Horological Institute. We have earned a reputation nationally, for providing expert horological services to individual members of the public, trade customers, public and private sector organisations, cathedrals and churches.
We specialise in clock and watch repairs and our team of qualified watchmakers, clockmakers and technicians have the skills and experience to undertake the full spectrum of horological work from the finest quality precision watch to the manufacture and restoration of the largest timepiece.
Simon is a second generation watchmaker. He followed in the footsteps of his Austrian father who established his clock and watch business in Norwich in 1958. Both Simon and his brother Peter Michlmayr have carried on in the family tradition of their father. Simon trained in Horology in London where he studied under Peter Roberts, followed by WOSTEP in Switzerland. He has been running his own company since 1986.
Stuart is our senior clockmaker. He began his career in Horology with Simon in 1987. Having started off as an apprentice fresh from school he is now an integral, highly skilled part of the team. He is trained in traditional clock repair techniques and is an extremely skilled member of staff.
Barrie completed his WOSTEP training at the British School of Watchmaking in Manchester. He is heavily involved in watch manufacturing and assembling.
Jeremy is our watchmaker who has come to us straight from college in his native country of France and is a member of the repair workshop.
As a member of the repair workshop, Neil is an expert Watchmaker. With years of experience in the industry he has worked on a large variety of new and vintage watches.
As a Trainee Watch Technician Aaron is learning all things watchmaking. He has applied to a Government apprenticeship scheme and will be starting his journey in 2023.
Ollie is a Trainee Clockmaker, learning everything there is to know about clocks both external and antique.
Jaimie is the glue that hold us all together! As our Customer Service expert, Jaimie takes customer enquiries and makes sure everything is running on time.
